Get Involved

Our gardens are maintained as a community effort by students, teachers, and interested community members. The benefit of having our community garden, school gardens and parklets connected to each other is that no garden will be left unattended. For example, most school gardens go fallow during breaks, when the founding teacher or parent leaves or when no one is there to weed or water the plots. That is why our interconnected network allows students and community members to shared the responsibility for the growth and success of all our gardens.
Every summer we have a group of student volunteers excited to come to school over the break just to tend to the garden they started in the spring. We have a maintenance plan which includes a regular watering schedule and maintenance days.
